Giant Fortune Cookie
Fredrik Staurland designed a limited-edition packaging idea for a t-shirt, packaged in a giant fortune cookie, with the fortune on the t-shirt inside.

Disco Rocks.
lovely little mirrored bling bling sculptures by LA artist/designer Steven Shein. Titled 'Rocktubes', they remind me of 3D kaleidoscopes. Nice piece on a visit to his studio here.

Respect.
Great little documentary about DJ Derek. Derek was born & raised in Bristol, & during the late 50's & early 60's fell in love with the music & culture of the West Indian immigrants moving to Britain. He picked up the lingo by hanging around in barber shops & listening, & picked up the groove by buying & selling reggae records around the country.
Now in his late 60's Derek tours the country armed only with a backpack full of killer tunes, his bus pass & an unquenchable thirst for real ale. If you get the chance you have to go see him.

Acoustic Location Devices.
These amazing contraptions were used to pin point ships in fog, or the onslaught of enemy aircraft up to WW2 before the advent of radar which render them obsolete. They use the same prinicple as the enormous concrete accoustic mirrors at Dungeness. Read more here.
