More crazy Japanese bikes. These are from Japanese bike makers: SHUKUNO-RINTENDO. Between 1996 and 1998 they produced a special series of power assited bicycles, 2 of them were the Fire Trick Bob and the Water Trick Bob. The Fire Trick Bob had a small turbine which produced 4.4 horsepower of thrust. The water and air tanks of the Water Trick Bob could generate enough thrust for 50 meters. There were also a propeller powered version and an electric version. Although i don't think I'd be willing to put my trust in these nutty looking contraptions, they do look great!

Although not an entirely new idea (sampling youtube vids: check guy's stuff out) this is a lovely piece of work. Called In Bb 2.0 it's a collaborative music and spoken word project conceived by Darren Solomon from Science for Girls, and developed with contributions from users.
This past Saturday, an entire apartment building in Shanghai collapsed. To be fair, the building was under construction and thus unoccupied, but it's still a minor miracle that there was only one fatality.

Another of our current projects on site are these vast concrete reservoirs nestling in the heart of Kent, which are being transformed in to two luxury houses for two independent clients. The steel structure on the upper level will be a glazed pavilion looking out over the rolling country side. Due for completion February '10.
