four letter words

Four Letter Words is an installation made by Rob Seward.

It consists of four units, each capable of displaying all 26 letters of the alphabet with an arrangement of fluorescent lights. The piece displays an algorithmically generated word sequence, derived from a word association database developed by the University of South Florida between 1976 and 1998. The algorithms take into account word meaning, rhyme, letter sequencing, and association.

Would love to see this as shopfront signage............

Derriere Restaurant - Paris

Derriere is a fairly unique restaurant concept in the heart of Paris. It offers to its guests the qualities of having a gourmet dinner in a restaurant with the comfort and warmth of eating in a traditional Parisian home. The basic idea behind this concept was to make guests feel as if they are invited and treated in a friend’s house – a concept that is lately starting to become more and more popular amongst Parisian restaurants, bars or even clubs.

Some british birds, by Edwyn Collins.

Musician legend Edwyn Collins illustrated these spellbinding birds on a daily basis after suffering two cerebral hemorrhages in 2005.

The delicacy of the birds demonstrate Edwyn’s skill as an illustrator while under the constrains of using his left hand, having lost control of his right after the strokes. Amazing. Buy it.
