KAREN MILLEN JORDAN OPEN

New KM store opened in Jordan last week.

Transitions

Down at the Truman Brewery right next door to LBI's front door there is a temporary lighting exhibit (very temp- 2 days long!)
which is showcasing 8 containers filled with lighting concepts by celebrated world designers. I popped along last night and it is really interesting, especially the LED technology involved. It is open for today only and is worth a look and you can also pop your head in the LBI reception and take a look at that too.

Enjoy. Beam me up. Scottie

♥ this.

a minimalist installation by realities:united that acts as a light sign, an information carrier, and a light source at the same time. 2 digits of 7-segment display, formed using industrial fluorescent tubes, are suspended from the ceiling. as a "display", the installation is used to show the current time in minutes.

Brick Lane Grill (not Hoxton)

The (in)famous grill work that you may (or may not) have seen, but in either case is very sweet. Looks folded, but in fact is flat panels spot welded together, and hinged for the door panels. Only thing that lets it down is the door furniture, but other than that, lovely.

The New Museum of Contemporary Art - New York

We went to visit this in the Bowery last week when we were at the Karen Millen opening. It's an amazing and beautiful building, designed by Tokyo architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa.
You can see how the building was assembled in the video here, and get some background to the architects here.
