Royal Observatory @ Herstmonceux

Worth a visit, the Royal Observatory @ Herstmonceux was designed by an architect that formally designed cruise liners. The influences are evident in overall style of the place, including the use of materials favoured by the Admiralty at the time, (lots of mahogany, and dreadnought grey paint etc.) The telescopes are amazing feats of basic engineering and there is an old, but really interesting Science Museum style indoor exhibit area.
